No idea. Possibly because it's in the UK, so shipping is cheaper/faster for UKers and European customers?

I do believe it's because MLC actually buy their stocks from Dolly Hair.

That wouldn't make any sense. If they buy from dolly hair then the prices ought to be the same as or more expensive than dollyhair. Maybe they found their own supplier?

They are more expensive than dollyhair. I'm pretty sure they don't have the same supplier because when you buy the same hair colour from them both, they usually turn out different. Buttercreme is one example. Maybe MLCs supplier just charges more than dollyhairs?

When I compare the price of MLC £3.00 to dolly hair at $3.12 and apply a currency conversion .... I realize I read it wrong and you are correct that dollyhair is cheaper. $3.12 in £ is the equivalent of about £2 so there is some markup there.

Is possibly to account for the shipping-to-them costs, customs fees paid, rent, etc.

they do use the same supplier. It's possible that sometimes hair from a different batch might be slgihtly different, but it's the same hair.

they use the same hair -- i do believe that MLC buys from dollyhair. the price increase could be from the cost to ship it overseas....that would be my guess
