Starry Wings
« on: April 15, 2012, 02:45:07 PM »
I might be kicked out of the Arena for this one.   I have an especially sad pony that I've been holding out on fixing.  As soon as I saw the wings EmberBright sent me in the Swap box, I knew they were destined for a manky, but special pony.

She was apart of a baity lot of ponies I bought off eBay a while ago.  She didn't look so bad in the photo, but when she arrived home, she was in DREADFUL shape.  Her mane and tail had glue in it.  Legit glue that I tried my best, but I could not remove.  I though maybe I could use a flat iron, but that made it worse.  So I had to cut it out of her hair, and it physically hurt me to do it.  This is what she looked like:(

I bought DH Hot Lips with the intention of using that to rehair her, but that all changed when I received my little swap box!  Inside was After Midnight and these:

I knew what I had to do!  So, running the risk of being ostracized from the pony community, I made the ultimate decision to give SW a drastic (very drastic) new look:

Here she is with her new hair and wings:

These pictures do not capture how drop-dead gorgeous she is now.  I know that some of you will want to punch me in the face for changing her, but I think that she is the MOST beautiful pony I've ever seen.  I haven't decided how to style her hair, but I think I might keep it straight and long.  Any suggestions?

Thank you Behemoth for my beautiful siggy!

WOW! I love her colors, the blues and purples contrast the sunshine yellow so nicely. I'm new to ponies, so I'm not sure what her original coloring was, but she's stunning now! I feel like her hair would be even better if it had a soft wave near the tips, to look more natural and fairy like. Either way, she's quite a vision

I don't see why anyone would ostracize you for that?  You haven't done anything to her that isn't reversible, like removing her symbols, so if sometime in the far future another collector gets her, they could always restore her back to original finish. *shrug*

I prefer her in her original form, but it's your pony to do with as you please.

Edit: Oh, for future reference, try acetone to remove glue from ponies, just keep it away from any paint!

Thanks for the tip:)  I tried everything to get it out, but it was so nasty and matted in.
I'm so glad that there is a positive response to her!  I love her normally, the dark pink is just a heavenly combo!  However, the deep blue just pops against her yellow color!

That pony is AMAZING. I love seeing rehairs in different colours! (The Corral post is making me squee). Yellow and dark blue is one of my favourite combos!
