Mystery Clear Ornaments

While looking for the elusive 2011 Carlton Cards Pinkie Pie ornament, I came across a mysterious clear Rainbow Dash ornament:

Does anybody know anything about it? Apparently, it was made for a non-US country, and stands at roughly 1.5 inches tall. There's a Pinkie Pie in this set as well... From the photos I've seen, she looks a lot like the solid-haired G4 gift set Pinkie Pie, except she's clear like this Dash.

It looks to be the same figure used for the crystal keychains... could it be that someone has used one of those keychain ponies and made her into a Christmas ornament? I've not heard of an official Christmas ornament like this, though it would be cool if it were official

Thanks! The keychain theory definitely makes sense. I figured they were some kind of repurposed figurine, but I just couldn't figure out what they were!

I have to agree, looks like they just took the keyring off and put a ribbon on her.

I love the creativity though of changing her to an ornament...*having visions of hathorcats 2012 Christmas tree covered in lots of little clear RDs and PPs...* now I need to decide if I can get a little led inside or on them....
