Taobao :muffin: Pony Confirmed Fake

Yet, the yellow unicorn's 2 companions haven't been seen on Taobao. We know about Zecora but she wasn't on Taobao. But her companions from the exclusive TRU pack have been briefly seen on Taobao.

The person from Hasbro CS doesn't indicate who told her that the Pony was not a Hasbro product.

There are many companies that keep employees in the dark about new and upcoming products, like Apple.

I personally think this still can go either way. We haven't seen any new Fashion Style Ponies for a long time. This also doesn't take into account a ComicCon Pony or a PonyFair Pony. So many possibilities!

Dunno if you're interested but there is a custom FS Pony for sale on eBay at the moment, bidding price starting under $100 and BIN price is $100 US. She even comes with a little mail bag... $100 is still a bit high but it's cheaper than the ones coming from people who got her from TaoBao.
I'd nab her myself but I still hold out the hope that she will be a legit release one day and I only ever buy G4 ponies MIB, if she's never genuine I'll just sigh and move on.

Also, could it possibly be because of all the wedding stuff that ponies haven't appeared as legit releases. She might be scheduled to release after all the hype over the wedding stuff has died down.
I don't know what to think anymore but I'm still fingers crossed!

Well I think the ones shown at the toy fair are a different case entirely When G4s first came out did any of them first show up in Tao before the toy fair? Like I said it was just something I figured with recent releases (in other words, my opinion on it So I could be completely wrong)

Saying it's fake might discourage people from buying that toy that was likely stolen/rescued from the factory (no profits to Hasbro), until an official one comes out (profits to Hasbro). There's probably an NDA on upcoming toys until Hasbro gives the OK, but customer service reps probably one of the last people who get informed about releases until they matter (there will only be complaints/inquiries about a toy after they ship out, etc).

But on the other side...

There could be a factory making unofficial toys, but then how come their quality matches Hasbro's? The only "complaints" I see about Pony's quality are dirt and missing hairplugs. Most fakies have thin plastic, really weak hair, poor-quality paint, warped/shrunken molds, etc. If she's just a fakie, how come all of a sudden did the quality get so good?

I still think she's real.

i wouldn't rely on hasbro's customer service, since they don't always give out correct information.
but if they are right... not that i think they are, but... well thats a suspiciously large amount of VERY convincing customs..

I agree. ToyFair ponies are a different case!

Not sure about Taobao but I did look at the old Toy Fair pics and didn't see many of the eventually-released ponies. I was surprised at the number of upcoming ponies they revealed this year. Does that mean they didn't reveal even more upcoming ponies? I'd like to think so!

I don't doubt she is probably a prototype. However, I doubt hasbro really makes much money from the prototypes too. Mostly the sellers do so it is possible someone behind the scenes decided there should have been one and made some knowing that character has a huge fan base. Who knows, she might at some point will become a pony at some point. All we can do is see.

I do know one thing, we've -seen- some ponies show up on Tao and have yet to see official releases *coughmintycough* The only official release of her was the blind bag pony Though I think she's been the only one so far.

As of this time, this is not an official Hasbro product.

They aren't going to say "Yes, this pony is real and we are going to release it on this date". To be honest, I doubt that customer service even has access to that information. They probably look at the list of "official released" ponies and see that it's not on the list.

It is my personal belief that the limited production we see of Pony came from a corporate decision.

TBH I dont think she is a fake either - I vote for prototypes
