Happy Meal Toy melting?
« on: April 08, 2012, 02:58:49 PM »
I've gotten ahold of one of the 2012 Happy Meal toys from Mcdonalds and I'd like to add some sculpy bits to it.   Anybody baked/boiled one of these before and had it come out in-tact?

I suppose I could 'cook' some shavings of the plastic over a hot plate and see if it melts or not..

I've had experience with the G3 line, but no experience with the new G4 McToys. Good luck, though!

Hmm, I don't know. I feel like this question was asked but I dont remember an answer.

I'd imagine thay should be fine so long as you take baking precautions. Use a piece of cardboard under the pony rather than straight on a metal pan, and use low heat.

Thanks everypony!   I'm still in the carving/sculpting stages, but I'll let everyone know how it survives.

If you wanted to play it safe, you could cook it a little longer at a lower temp too.
