Hooping?

I was at a friends house the other day and she had an old hoola hoop... so nostalgic and fun!


When I got home I started to google for an adult size hoop - and I learned that there are lots of different kinds for fitness and even for 'hoop dancing' with 



I have now purchased a collapsible travel hoop in and a weighted one for fitness and I cant wait to get started! It seems like a really fun way to be creative and get some exercise.



Does anyone else use a hula hoop either for fitness or for dancing? Has anyone else ever heard of 'Hooping'?

One of my best friends hoops! I personally don't; I was never able to get the knack of it. But it can be SOOOOO pretty when done well.

I have a green and black one.  And during an oldies music event they had a hula hooping contest.  I did fourth best.  I would've done better if I had thought to take my keys off my belt.

Did you self teach the dance moves?  I have found a few good tutorials on you tube but im not sure how hard it is going to be to learn from internet videos Sadly no classes in my area at all~

I hoop! I haven't in a while though because my hoop is too small to make any more progress with tricks. I know a few though. I need to get a bigger hoop x.x I used to go to a weekly session in Dallas for people who do hooping and poi and other fun things like that, I was so sad to move away and stop going.

Oh for goodness sakes I can't do it lol. I never could. I would watch my mother hoola hoop for like ten minutes at a time as a kid..but I never could get the hang of it.

I have my childhood one (red with white stripes running the full circle), from my grandpa. But I suck at hooping.
