shiny pony's shiny gone... want it back!!!!
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:25:34 PM »
figured you guys would know more about this...

so i bought a bait lot on ebay a while ago, and it had some baby sea ponies in it... well... now im restoring them... because i just love them so much... only problem is that one was celebrate, and while they left the eyes (except lashes)  they wiped most her shiny off...  still love her, she's my first pearly pony.. but she's not pearly.... soo i wanna fix that!

what would you use to re shiny her and would i brush it on or airbrush (has no hair)?  and well.... yeah! help me make her purdy!!!

I would say that airbrushing would be your best bet as the coat would be lighter than with a paintbrush and it would look more like it originally did.

Airbrush with a pearlized paint. Good luck!

o yeah.. does anyone know if i can sunfade her, or would she burn? she has a brown spot on her nose, and i think it best to fix that before putting more shiny on her. ^__^

and thanks!!

Do you have a picture of her handy?  There are some spots that sunfading just won't help.

Martha Stewart just came out with some excellent craft paints and finishes that I think would give you the look you're looking for.

Ooh. :(  I'm not sure anything will get that spot out.  I'm sunfading a Confetti who was very brown with spots like that on top of that; the overall brown color is fading fine, but the spots aren't budging.  You could certainly try, though!
