G4 sunfading?

I bought a Rainbowdash yesterday for a base to make a G4 Wind Whistler and I noticed her body is a darker blue then her head so I thought, after taking off the head and her tail I'd put it in the sun today to hopefuly lighten her up.  How long should I keep her body out there for the sunfading to work?

There is a thread titled something like "looking for a customizer" and I can't link well on my phone. But in that thread someone posted a pinkie pie that had been in 7 days of constant sun and the difference was drastic.
