I found a little budgee and looking for his owner....

It's quiet sad, I have rang the council and a couple of vets, and there is no real easy way of finding him his owner. I am taking him into one of the local vets in the morning and they will try their best to find him his home, I can't really keep him myself with the three kitties, such a sweet little fella though.
 
Just hope he is microchipped or something so it will be easier to find his owner. It is dissapointing there isn't some sort of place online for lost birds, plenty of places for lost kitties & dogs, just not for birds.
 
Cross your fingers ponies that this cutie will find his original owner - he is very friendly and looks in good health, just hope he finds his way home quickly

good luck.  Register him with the local rspca (they put found pets on their website) and put up posters.  I'm sure if he's tame, his owner is looking for him.

Thanks xeevee - I am going to do what I can to find this little guy his owner. I will get some posters printed up tonight & put some around the local area, and I didn't realize the rspca had such a thing, will get him on there straight away

Poor little birdie   I had 2 budgees when I was a little kid so I have a soft spot for them

I took him over to a local vet thisafternoon and they assure me if he is microchipped they will reunite him, and if not, they will do their best to find his owner, or at the very least find him a new loving home I got a strange look from a lady in the waiting room when I arrived with a cat carry bag and this wee budgee in there lol - her daughter came up and had a look in and asked me what his name was ^^ so cute! I love the innocence of children.

Just glad that he is in better hands than mine at least now, I had him in the laundry at home because it is a "cat free" zone, but was worried that they would try to get in there anyhow, and possibly freak him out scratching at the door and all.

I have a big weak spot for any animals, and know how it is when a pet has gone "missing" I would hate him to be missed by his family

Aww poor little guy, hopefully his owners find him. Birds can be sneaky little buggers and slip out easily - it's even possible he's escaped from a pet store. When we had one in the mall they periodically had to mostly close their doors (you could still get in) but to keep the loose bird inside until they caught it. One did escape and made it to the other end of the mall to the grocery store.

I really hope he can find his original owner. I know I love birds and if a bird I owned got out I would have made an ad in the paper and any neighborhood paper I could afford to do so..just to try to get him back.

I don't know if you have Craigslist down under but check/post under lost and found and pets sections. I have reunited several animals with their owners and found my own dogs in return thanks to the site.

If he's banded, and was bred locally, they can possibly trace him back that way...Breeders usually keep track of personal sales [at least responsible ones do], so that's always ap ossibility. If not though, I'm sure he'll be easy to find a new home for. Its possible he was lost,but also just as possible someones kid grew out of liking him and he was let go. You'd be shocked how many people think it's ok to just release domesticated hookbills. Horrifying. Kudos to you for getting him taken care of!
