Ponies in plastic bags
« on: March 20, 2012, 10:09:58 PM »
How long is it safe to keep ponies in plastic bags with no air holes? (I remember reading somewhere plastic bags should have holes in them if you're using them to store ponies)

Long story short there are ants in the bathroom and the night my boyfriend's mom said she'd call the maintenance people for the apartment I got a bit worried and bagged up all my ponies (G1, G2, and G3). That was like, a week ago ish at this point? The ants are showing up in much smaller numbers (like one a day instead of ten in a few hours) and I don't think mom's called yet. I'm worried about my ponies being in plastic bags and being swarmed by ants (as my bedroom shares a wall with the bathroom) so I don't know what to do.

I don't have any customs or otherwise fragile ponies in the bags, as everyone I was worried about being harmed in the bags I took out. There are some with cancer, smooze, tail rust, and/or tiny remnants of mold (still being cleaned out, but I obviously can't keep them in the bathroom) in bags, but all "injured" ponies are in the same bag.

Edit; And a word of warning, I had my G4s in a plastic bag for less than 24 hours. Those in the shade suffered horrific head/body mismatch when they'd been 100% fine before I bagged them. I've had lots of issues with darkness lightening G4 heads or darkening G4 bodies (not sure which).

I think they are safe from the ants, if that's what you mean.

Well I mean how long will they be safe in them, like can being in the bags harm them? Since I read someone plastic bags need to have holes in them if you're using them to store ponies.

And hahaha! They definitely did. RIP Dash and Cheerilee.

Well, I partition my ponies in plastic bags (still can't find the perfect display cabinet. Last one I picked up from Ikea couldn't even stand on it's own and kept collapsing into a pile on the floor!). They still look fine, but then, they haven't been in the bags that long, and hopefully I can find a display cabinet by the middle of the year.

I think the ponies in bags will be fine as long as the room where they are kept isn't too hot and gets some air circulation.

they should be fine for a few days. i kept mine in baggies inside a tub when i moved to my house. they were that way for about a week or two before i got my book case back into my room. all i noticed was that their hair clung to them kinda like they absorbed the air from the baggies or something lol could be static.
