i wish this trick worked for me!!!!! my boyfriend ALWAYS buys himself magic the gathering cards in bulk. he buys the $100 boxes. and he just bought himself a new laptop also. i wish i could use that excuse to buy me some ponies! right now  i tell him "but i was saving for them, i set money aside for them!" or "i traded for them >_>" or "i got it for a really good discount!!!!" and he still teases me about how i shouldn't spend any money (he used to be serious and get upset with me, but now that i  have a better job, and he does too, we tease each other. we've both learned to lighten up a bit)
just like i told him last night "i'm only buying the wedding castle when it comes out" and i spent $40+ on wedding invitation ponies from kmart today.

I would post in wanted as well...lots of people dont list everything they have for sale if they dont "need" to part with it and lots of members are amazing at getting in touch with you if they see or know you are on the hunt for anything in particular...

You cant find anything as in none of your wishlist items are up? or you cant find anything that you want enough to spend the money on?

If its the second problem I find a trip to Dream Valley galleries to be helpful!

I don't really have a wishlist.  Initially, I just started collecting g1s last winter out of a desire to recreate my '80's childhood collection, and I only have one or two left.  I'm not into collecting nirvanas, or rather, I haven't seen anything catch my eye enough to say "I NEEEEED THAT ONE!" enough to spend a lot of money on it (although I love the coloring on the Mountain Boys).  There's a couple of bigger lots on Ebay at the moment, but they're both at the upper end end of my price range.

I always post a want list - I know a lot of sellers (myself included!) don't always list all the extra ponies due to the fact that they haven't been cleaned up.  So I've always got other ponies available that I haven't listed.    Want lists are the way to go!

On a different note, I completely relate to you!  I acutally have a little for this and that, but none of what I'm looking for seem to be out and about.  =/

Haha my bf plays magic too! But he is like:
"gf don't you want to buy some pony's so I can buy more magic??"
 
Yester day we had a compations about who's collection was worth more, he won! His cards are worth about 1100$ (only counting the rare ones) and mine was only about 450$.
To be fair I have only been collecting for 2-3 months and he for 13-14 months :p
Than he callanged to get a ponny collection worth more than his cards!

G3 bait supply dried up in SF.  Not the greatest at rehairing, but improving.

I sympathize rybett! I couldn't find anything in ANY generation around SF! My sister and I found some G1s at an antique place south of SF but they were way overpriced. My sister bought Windy there anyway because she just really wanted a G1 but I held off and they were all gone when I checked back later.

Haha I love it! My bf and I do something similar, except it's him saying for every pony I buy, he gets to buy points for his computer game League of Legends. We're going to one-up each other straight into the poor house, I tell you.

If you keep looking, I'm sure something will pop up that catches your fancy! Don't give up. xD
