Black marks during rehairing?
« on: March 07, 2012, 11:25:45 AM »
I'd notice after I'm done painting and putting a glossy mod podge on and start to rehair her (after she dries), she get's black marks on her face from where I hold her while I'm rehairing.  Is there a way to fix it or know what I'm doing wrong so it won't look as bad in the feature?

Yeah, that happened with me when I was working over a newspaper... like a moron...

If it's the surface you're working on, you can change where you work or put down a white sheet or something.  If it's your hands for whatever reason, you could wear gloves.  Only things I know.  Sorry.

Normally the pressure of your hands pushing down can cause the paint to smudge no matter how dry you think it is, this is why I don't re-paint the whole head before re-rooting, I would paint the strip where the hair goes and then re-root and stick the head back on to the body and paint the rest of the head.
It looks like your going to have to remove the paint and start again, next time try my method, it should work out for you :)

Oh wow.  I never knew that.  I've never had that problem.  I'll have to try that method...

i have had issues like that before -- now i always rehair first
in the past, to correct the problem, I have had to repaint the head
