I think God may hate this custom-help?
« on: March 04, 2012, 02:20:27 PM »
Ok so this has been a trying custom for me.  First of all it took forever to get it the way I like it.  Then it took forever to paint and I stripped it down and repainted twice.  So finally I am pretty happy with my progress and I decided to give her a quick dull coat to keep her nice till I finish her up.  I hadn't used the bottle in a little while so I did several test sprays to make sure I wasn't going to get that puff of dots that sometimes happens.  I checked my distance and spray.  Naturally it 'puffed' and now she has little white sealant spots on her.  I think God may hate this custom.  Advice?

Ack! I hate it when that happens. You could always see if flocking it would help. Fuzzy dragon maybe? If you don't go that route you could just paint over the blue and black again and make the texture work. Dunno if it would. You could also take a little bit of alcohol and see if it smooths it down any. It may take paint off though.

Thanks I will try that and gentle buffing and see if it takes the paint off.  Worse case I guess I'll have to strip it down and repaint again.

Did that happen with Testors Dullcote? Wow, in all the years I've been using it I've never once had that problem.
That's so weird. I'd try lightly buffing/sanding to try to smooth it out. Good luck!

Agree with Pop, try sanding it a little then resealing maybe with a different sealer.  I have never had that problem before with any spray sealer I have ever used.

It usually happens when there is dust in the air that you miss. I have cats and lots of dust so it used to happen all the time. Now i use a watered down brush on modge and no more problems :)

Thanks guys! Can you get testors in a bottle /liquid form? It was testors spray.  I didn't realize about the dust thing I have dogs so that could be part of it.
