I think I"ll try and paint over it. Usually its not a problem, as I tend to do FBR anyway, but this time I wanted to just paint symbols... oh well.

Btw, if the stains haven't sunk all the way through and are just stubbornly on the surface, I found that the sanding I tried worked pretty well, and if you polish it with a very fine grit paper afterwards, the finish isn't bad either. Just don't breathe in the plastic particles. It completely removed the blue pen marks on her neck, too.

If you aren't in a time crunch, you should try sunfading.  It would save you from the FBR and should take care of the stains.  I only did one Sunnydaze and she had a little bit of staining.  I left her in a window for a month and then she was good to go!
