I need a game suggestion

I really enjoyed Farmville, but I hate the extra crap you have to do in it. The energy cost/having + friends to expand. I'd really like a game single or online I don't care, but don't wanna pay any monthly fees. I already pay for WOW, I don't wanna pay for something else. Anyone have a suggestion that is like Farmville? Something where you tend animals and crops and can decorate the little farm/house you have. I know there are farm games out there and yes I can do similar things in Sims, but I figured someone might know of one that I never heard of.

My very fave is Harvest Moon The best one I think was the gameboy advance release 'Friends of Mineral Town'. The originals were also really fun if quite retro - there are releases over several kinds of systems and you can get ROMS to run them on PC.

Rune Factory is similar but also is a bit more complicated as it includes RPG elements. There is also a series called Monster Rancher which is about raising different kinds of creatures

Juri, I read your game post on another topic and I looked up Harvest Moon, it looks very interesting. I will have to see what I can find online. Thank you. My kids have Monster Rancher, it looks kinda advanced for me.

You can sometimes find games like Farm Mania or Farm Frenzy in those $10 computer game sections. Those are fun. ^_^

I agree! Harvest Moon is the best game ever! And More Friends Of Mineral Town was my favorite of the series!

Another Harvest Moon vote here!  I used to play FarmVille but I gave up because I was displeased with some of Zynga's practices and of course the 383837372 notifications I'd get on Facebook.

Eviecorn, I totally agree with the gazillion notifications and the you gotta have +50 friends to unlock this part of your farm. I loved LOVED the sounds especially the chickens when you fed them, it was like a chicken explosion. I also hated getting into the groove of the game only to be out of energy and no money for energy food.
When I can get out to Cool Stuff (its a local used video game store) I will see if they have the Mineral Town Friends HM game.

Another vote for Harvest Moon here! I agree that it's the mother of all Farm Sims.

I too recommend either Friends of Mineral Town or More Friends of Mineral Town, depending on your preferred game character gender.

Hmmm, there's a Sim Farm from Maxis back in 1993, but it looks awful old

Harvest Moon!  Depends on which game system you have.  I like Harvest Moon "A Wonderful Life".  It's easy to use this version verse some of the other newer ones (or at least it is for me).  My husband loves the whole series.  He doesn't care too much for the Rune Factory ones though.

I play Farmville, and also Castleville which has similar farming stuff - but it is also an energy based game.

But I'm confused when you say you ran out of energy in Farmville, as that is the one Zynga game that isn't energy based. Did you mean running out of fuel?

My fave is Pandemic 2. ^^ You start our as a virus, bacteria, or parasite, and have to infect everyone in the world and wipe out humanity. It's really difficult because Madagascar shuts down everything if one man in Russia coughs. xD
