Doll hair from Hobby Lobby
« on: March 01, 2012, 12:54:06 PM »
A couple of weeks ago I bought some back doll hair from Hobby Lobby hoping to use it for a custom but I got a question.  Can you strighten it?  I want to use some of it as part of a tail for a custom I want to do cause I want to mix it with some white hair.

I've tried that stuff before.. I tangled 90% of the bag :(

You could try straightening it by dipping it in boiling water and letting it hang dry.

you can straiten it.... i would rehair the pony then straiten it... seems easier to me that way. just using the conditioner straightener way.  Im using some white at the moment, but i want it all curly and frizzy.  Good luck!

Hlb and Maniah both have good ideas.  I don't have much personal experience with that stuff--it drove me crazy the one time I tried to use it!  Good luck, and I hope you'll be able to make something work!

i used to wrap it around a book, then blast it with a hot hair dryer... sure, it still has a few kinks where the book is, but much easier...=]

Okay I just open the bag of my doll hair thinking I can finally use it since I got my rerooting tool and it wasn't what I was picturing.  It looked like a very long curly hairy pipe cleaner.  Not buying hair from Hobby Lobby again. -_-

Hey prowlsgirl, I would personally use hair from my little customs as they sell the same nylon hair that hasbro use.

Dollyhair.com is also the same hair that hasbro uses. Well worth the money.
