prep for restoration merry go round sparkler
« on: February 29, 2012, 05:46:35 PM »
Has anyone tried using conditioner on original dry and frizzy manes? Sparkler has dry mane. And for cleaning I'm debating on soaking in oxyclean. She has some marks and smudge.

conditioner is my best friend for fixing hair!!! Lather up, rinse a little, comb through a couple times, rinse more and repeat!  I also use a straightener, but use carefully! always have the hair wet and have a bunch of conditioner in when you use it... I only use it for severe cases of frizz.

conditioner does help. I usually let it sit on the hair for a while. tho it doesnt always make it perfect

Due to my 3-week hair dying cycle, I've got a huge overstock of the super-thick conditioner that comes with bleaching kits.  I use that on my ponies that need conditioning.

The cleaning went good :) discovered her head is partially sealed to her neck will have to cut. =( there is something like dirt/bark material inside her. She was a squirt pony for a bit as I tried to get rid of it.

The dark material inside her is likely mildew or rust, so its good to open her up completely and give her a good cleaning.  Did you get before pics?

if you let her sit under really hot water or a hair dryer for a while then pull at  the head then repeat as soon as it cools you wont have ot knife her. The glue will eventually give even for the hardest of ponies!
