Hair Color Help , Dollyhair (1st Custom)

I'm going to try to make my first Custom, and I want to do a G4 version of my Ponysona Theatrice.




Dollyhair.com seems to be the best supplier for nylon hair, but I find the hair sample colors to be hard to see correct color. Some of them look perfect on their color sample , but when I google the pony they should be the perfect match for it's not the best color.




Here's some picture's of Theatrice, I'm going to use Applejack as my base.

The yellow color I've found; LEMON DROP

But the two shades of purple I don't really know. If it helps I think that the purple color G4 Rainbow Flash has in her tail is perfect for Theatrice Darker Purple, and G4 Daisy dreams darker pinkish Purple for Theatrice's lighter purple.

 for the yellow, I would suggest Lemon drop or Butterfly.

 For the light purple, maybe Twilight or Wisteria?  (I think DH is out of wisteria for a few more months).

 For the dark one, I wouls suggest Ultraviolet or Sour Grapes (Ultraviolet is my fav!)

I have to second the suggestion of Lemon Drop. I did a couple Pony Hooves in it to see how it looked, and it was way too bright for Pony. So if it seems too bright to you, I would suggest a step down in color and use Lemonade. Bad news is there will be no more lemonade for about 2 months or so. If you prefer Katsilk, Lemonade is matched in color to Lemon Blond 14. However, I would not mix Katsilk with the Dollyhair MLP hair. Completely different textures.

For the Dark purple, I would choose Sugarplum, or Ultra Violet

For the light purple, I would go with Mullberry Crush. I would even be tempted to try Bougainvillea if it was just a tad more purple. I love that color.

That said.. I haven't seen any of those purples in person yet. I have some coming in the mail though.

It's often hard to get an exact match with dollyhair - their colors are just very limited. You will probably never find the exact color you want unfortunately.

I do think mulbery crush (my favorite purple <3) would be a good choice for the medium purple. This pony has mulberry crush next to ultraviolet.

I really like mulberry Crush, it's probaly the closest even if its more blue than red

The Ultra Violet is deffinitely too dark for me, So Sugarplum looks better.

Anyone have a pony made in Sugarplum?

Hmm.. That pony has her original hair, actually. The dark blue was the same color as the light purple. I just laid  her on her side and painted blue RIT dye into her hair. The blue is also what I used to get the fade on her body. Of course, the fade has spots in it now

So yeah.. The light purple is just normal pony hair, no special order. And I made this pony so long ago, I couldn't begin to tell you what she was originally either.
