When do you name a custom?

So this was random thought that came up, but when/how do you guys come up with names for customs?

Personally I find myself naming them almost at the tail end of customizing or afterwards... I've have very few were I came up with the name before even coming up with the design or even during the process of creating a new pony..

The other way around.  Names seem to come to me, then I figure out to do the pony.

Always at the very end. I hardly ever have a specific idea for a custom, I just make it up as I go along. When she's finished, I choose a name that suits her:)

Usually before I start the pony or while I am making the pony.

I call a new pony when I'm drawing him. I think the name is a part of pony's personality and help me to do the custom

I voted "during the process" although sometimes the name doesn't come to me until after the pony is completed. I usually start to think about it while I'm painting but more so while I'm rehairing. If I haven't come up with something by then I'll do a little research on the theme and see what I can come up with.

  I only made 2 at the moment, but named them in the end, now working on other 2 but honestly I need to see them finished before deciding a name, I'm really not able to think a name while working on them

During....usually, sometimes when the pony is just about finished.

That said, most of my customs have been of characters so they have a name long before I design the custom.

Occasionally a name will come to me as I'm making the pony, but usually I have them finished and I force myself to come up with a name while I'm saving the pictures so I know what to name the files

I voted at any time during the customization period. Sometimes I'll know immediately, other times it takes a bit of research

Most of the time it's after I have the first sketch done. sometimes it's not until she's finished.

Sometimes I know the name before I start.  Other times, it comes to me while working on the custom (often while I'm rehairing), and sometimes I finish and still don't know the name so I have to start brainstorming.

It's odd, but this is how it works for me:  I name the pony when the pony tells me her name.
