Oh okay XD Well then quick photo lesson! Composition is basically all the elements in the picture. So, how do the colors, shapes, objects etc all interact. The "frame" is the frame of your camera lens. Basically, you are confined to a rectangle (unless you crop) so you have to position objects within it in an interesting way, and be mindful of how they touch/interact with the frame.

That's where the rule of thirds comes in! The rule of thirds basically helps with composition. If you split your frame into thirds, you always want your subject or main focus to be closer to one of those outermost thirds. Centering the object makes for a fairly bland photo in general. There are obviously some exceptions, but in general It's a good rule! I almost never put my girls in the center of the frame unless its an extreme closeup :)

Here's a good (and adorable!) example

You can also see the rule of thirds (both horizontally and vertically) very easily in the photos Rabiruchi linked on the previous page :)

You can also make quite a big difference just with a nice crop. I personally think that a lot of doll photographers use way too large of a frame. Plus, cropping takes all of 30 seconds - I did this in paint:

It enforces the rule of thirds, and takes out a lot of unnecessary scenery :)

edit: The photo is xkelpiex's, and the original is on the previous page. DERP I totally meant to put this in originally >.<;

I actually take loads of pics and in the end I choose a few...like two or three u_u''
And I also balance the light on photoshop ._.'
I don't really have many opportunities to shoot the dolls in daylight, but this way I can manage it somehow TT'

Rhini, you have Pullip "versions" of Maretti and Paulia! *0*~
I love those sets so much! Your girl is stunning! ^_^

I think that's just a lighting issue :) It took me so long to work out that I am not happy with anything I take unless it's in LOTS of natural light. Helps with the balance colour and focus!

Pere Noel is GORGEOUS!!!! I love her faceup. *grabby hands*

You have no idea how gorgeous she is in person! I cannot stop staring at her. I wanna take more pics but it's nighttime and I don't have a very great source of light in the house, unfortunately.

oh no!  My presale notice just came in today for Aurora....  She's pretty much what pulled me into Pullips in the first place...or rather the steampunk lines in general did.  Now the waiting for shipping begins!

Oh, I hear you Diamond! Waiting for Pere was agonizing and then seeing others get her first... ;.; But, once you have her home that excitement is wonderful!

I have a veeeeeeery unhappy bald girl hiding inside a blanket. She's waiting for her new wig to dry.. I wish I could blow dry it to speed up the process but it's curly and I'd rather not have to re-curl it.. >A<

... HOLY SJDGHASFSD! Pere Noel is ridiculously GORGEOUSSSS. @___@;;;;
