I think some people are getting confused about what is what.

Wave 1: pink bags, numbers either on top or on the side flaps its still wave 1. The TRU set is also part of Wave 1.

Wave 2: purple bags, different ponies than wave 2 with the exception of the mane 6.

I wonder about this too since only a couple people have said "I saw it." but no pictures or locations confirmed yet

Are you guys who say you found wave 2 thinking that the new numbering system for wave 1 is a new wave? or are you actually seeing these

I don't view the TRU exclusive set as part of any wave though as they were their own separate release.

Ok, the Beaverton, OR Toys R Us has 2 boxes full of wave 1's, but they appear to be the remnants from at least 3 boxes as there are no #22-#24's. They had TONS of Firecracker Flames.

Gah! I just need the crystal pink variant Twilight Sparkle! Does anyone have one for sale or trade? Man, I would even trade a custom for that one.

I have spotted the Wave 1 blind bags at the following cities, they have been out for quite a while though so I don't even know if this is still news but just figured I'd share anyways =)

Illinois:
Orland Hills (Walmart)
Orland Park (Toys R Us)
Matteson (Walmart & Toys R Us)

Indiana:
Schererville (Walmart)
Merrillville (Walmart & Toys R Us)

Hope that was helpful to at least someone lol

Somepony mentioned that the pink variant Twilight Sparkle was a manufacturing error in the first run of the Wave 1 Blind Bags, so they only appeared in Europe like 3? years ago. Later batches (and all the ones we get here in the USA) are the correct purple color.

So, you'll need to find somepony across the pond willing to sell if you want the pink crystal Twilight Sparkle.

I was wondering if that was just a Euro thing. That helps immensely, since I am only collecting US wave 1. Now that I have them all, I can work on custom bb's and watching for wave 2....

I have read through this entire post and no one has mentioned Walgreens. I have found them at only 1 store though. Between my sister and I we have checked 3.  They are $2.99 there. :( My sister has also found them at Five Below for I think $2.99 also. I live in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.

I did find ONE in a Walmart in the area just laying on a shelf.
Looking for a dress for a talking Rainbow Brite doll from the 80\'s (around 18\") in good condition with decal.

I found a stuffed box at Five Below as well, but like you mentioned they were $2.99.

Actually they appeared last year when wave1 was released in Europe. And yes they were gone quite fast as new packs arrived.
I had two, but one was given away as a price for a contest over "some other site with horses". Funny thing, at that time, regular blindbag Fluttershy was worth more than pink glittering Twilight Sparkle.

Utah Walmarts are fully stocked of Wave 1 blind bags, they have two new boxes of them out.

I guess I should be happy, but, it means Wave 2 is a LONG way away.

(we are also fully stocked in luggage ponies, so.. no wedding girls anytime soon either...)

Pennsylvania's Walmart in Lebanon had blind bags a few months ago.  I'm not sure if they still do; the one in Palmyra (a few towns down the road) doesn't have any.

They're at Walgreens in the city too.. at least the one closest to me.
