After two and half month of bed rest with my last kiddo I can so relate. I did a lot of catching up on shows. Mostly on a tablet and a lot of reading. Once they would let me sit up, I did a lot of puzzles and watching out the window. I was miserable. I wish you luck!

I'd go absolutely bonkers. You've got a lot of good advice. Find online Tetris, that can keep anyone busy for hours. There have to be some good Facebook games to keep you occupied as well... Good luck!

I would not. I'm afraid to have another kid because I might be put on bed rest. I don't even like to watch movies because I hate sitting for hours, and I pretty much hate TV. I don't like to read books, either. When I was in the hospital, my husband brought me some drawing pencils and paper, and a cross stitch that I hadn't worked on in ages. I also had my iPad and my iPod, and family members brought puzzle books and magazines. My parents, my grandpa, and my sister visited me, and my husband stayed with me most of the time. He played video games to pass the time. My stay only ended up being a week, though. Hope you can find something that works for you.

Thank you everyone! Wasn't expecting this much input

I now have the laptop *cheers* so I can finally do something other than sneer at the TV, or sleep. I'm finding it's scarily easy to drop off in the daytime and then be up all night.......it's not fair.

But yup, as some of you have guessed/noticed from posts made elsewhere, it's because I'm VERY pregnant. It's no big scary emergency causing this, just that I have developed sudden painful swelling in my legs which means I have to keep them elevated. I think the doc is worried the skin might split if I don't keep them up, certainly it feels like it might do just that sometimes  >_<

I have another appointment at the hospital in just under two weeks, I'm hoping for further input then! I have three weeks minimum, five maximum before I'm due (I am SO hoping that three weeks will do it!).
Thank you *wyvernchick* for my lovely avvie!

I was able to have little man at the beginning of my due week rather than the end because I was on bedrest. My OB knew I couldn't take it much longer. So there's that to look forward too ;)

I had ordered a cross stitch blanket to do while I was on bedrest. That sucker is STILL not done.

An emollient cream is good for soothing legs and helping to stop cracking skin. Something like E45.
Raising your legs will help the fluid return to your body. It can kind of pool in your legs and not move. Make sure you keep peeing. let your dr know if you aren't going. I guess they'd usually give a medicine to help you go but being pregnant they might not prescribe that.
Hope the time passes more quickly now you have something else to occupy your time :)

I'm sorry to hear that you're stuck in bed. I would probably get some books or even try Bonnie you could do sitting down. What about making a scrap book or crocheting?

I spend most of my time sedentary, however, that is such a difficult position. Pillows under your arms can help make reading, crocheting,  coloring, etc, much easier. I also sometimes put one across my chest to prop up my kindle. I hope time goes by faster now that you have a laptop. You'll get through this.

I spent my week of bedrest doodling and making collages, reading and playing games on the DS. I hope you feel better soon!

Make someone read to you from time to time so your arms don't get tired from holding the book over your head.
I'll put something here some time

Well, the time is almost up! On Friday I am booked in for an elective section - not elective exactly, more that my midwife thinks my body has had enough of everything and decided it might be better to have the baby a couple of weeks early so I can get myself fully better.

I'm not ungrateful, I can assure you! Pneumonia, really painful legs, crippling backache.....I'm happy to wave goodbye to all that.
Thank you *wyvernchick* for my lovely avvie!
