USPS has messed up...
« on: June 04, 2015, 07:30:54 PM »
I just need to rant. I sold a ton of ponies and other things on ebay this past week. Got all of them shipped out, gave out tracking numbers as needed, thought great, I can go on vacation with no worries!

One of the more expensive ones was supposed to be on its way to Miami, Florida, and it should have been there by now.  My buyer just notified me that it is currently in transit to CALIFORNIA.

I had another package going to this exact place in California, that I shipped the same night, but it had its own tracking number, so I'm not sure how USPS thinks that both of them are going to California when I KNOW, I KNOW that I put Miami, Florida on the correct package, and California on the other one - my dad watched me do it! I shipped them after the usps closed, using the postage machine, so they picked them up from the drop box the next day. I can only assume someone at USPS was not paying attention.

So now I spend tomorrow franctically on the phone trying to hunt down this package. I leave tomorrow night for vacation. Thank god I'll have internet...
darcerin on the TP, arinaketchum on ebay, Salvia on PI

Don't worry   USPS has a history of this kind of thing (there are a few threads in here about it happening to other members if you do a search).  Either they send the package off to some odd destination first, they don't update the tracking properly, it shows as being sent to some other place or on its way but then shows up with the buyer on the same day or next day or other similar stuff.
It doesn't mean that your buyer wont get their pony. Sometimes it does mean a delay though if they really sent it off to the wrong depot/state  (it's happened to me before) . It wont hurt to contact them  just to be sure about where your parcel is for peace o mind before you go on vacation  :awake:

This has happened to me too. I've ordered things online and made sure my address was correct and somehow it has got sent it to a different area than it's supposed to go. With my packages they've always realized their mistake and I've gotten my item a little later than I should have. I hope everything works out for your buyer.

Yes, this is a very common thing with USPS.  I can't tell you the amount of times I would ship something to the west coast, from the midwest, and it would travel down to Tampa Bay, FL first.  O.o  Don't worry - it will make it.  ^_^  I do not understand their ways, but the USPS is usually pretty reliable.  Usually.
