washing mlp hair

I usually clean ponies all over with dish detergent (morning fresh is the brand we have here, dawn is another popular brand), including their hair to remove any major dirt.  Then I rinse and use lots of conditioner to comb through and get the knots out, then rinse again.

I just use general supermarket brands of conditioner-- usually whatever I'm using on my own hair.  I'm interested what other collectors do, too!
