Buy it! And not only this one. American Gods or the Anansi Boys are also great book! Or the Graveyard book... buy anything written by Neil Gaiman!

The book is so much better than the film!

I love the book, so creepy yet awesome. So much better than the movie. I love Gaiman and recommend all of his work (including Good Omens with Terry Pratchet).

Thanks everyone.  I think I will get it after Christmas, or with Christmas money or gift cards. :)

Actually Coraline isn't a Tum Burton movie!!! My 2 fave movies are the Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline. Watched weekly if not more in my house ;) the book is excellent you will like it.

Oh wow, you're right.  Neither is The Nightmare Before Christmas.  How deceiving.

I found this on google:

The director of both Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) was Henry Selick. It is often assumed, since Nightmare is sometimes credited as Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, that Burton directed that film.

Don't worry lots of people think it is. That's why there are so many blurbs about it on google ;)
 Looking for G1 Starshine, Bubbles, Lickety Split, Posey, Tickle, and a few more

OK so I checked my local used book store down the street.  They only sell paperbacks but they didnt' have the book.  The lady said she thinks they did have it but recently sold it.  So, amazon I went.  I bought a hardcover version because the cover stays nice for a really long time.  I've seen a few cover versions, one like I had posted, one which is completely black with no picture on the cover and just basically the title but it takes up most of the cover.  I saw someone on another website had some kind of collector's edition with a picture of Coraline in color but she was from the UK so I don't know it was UK exclusive but they didn't have it on amazon anyway.  It wasn't a picture of Coraline from the movie though.  I know movie tie in books and that wasn't it.  Anyway, I'm excited.  I read the summary for The Grave Yard book and it sounds interesting but for now I'd like to stick with Coraline. :)

Thanks everyone for helping.
