Sorta Newbie - Returning to Sell
« on: November 01, 2014, 01:52:52 PM »
Hello!

I am returning to the Arena after a long absence and am now looking to sell most of my large G3 My Little Pony collection. Anyone have any advice for me about the best way to go about doing that without listing each pony individually? I am organizing and photographing my collection as well as I can based on sets and thought I might try to sell them that way. Thoughts? Also, where is the best place to try to sell? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

:newpony: Welcome to the Arena. I hope you are keeping your favorites. As to selling - I would suggest setting up lots, either by sets or similar. Most loose G3 are sadly not worth that much.

Lots are probably best, though you may want to look at the market value for general store sets first, if that's mostly what you have, and see if it's even worth your time.  Exclusives and limited release G3's can run into double digits + but all the others have a hard time even getting up to original retail.  There just aren't that many new collectors for G3 and most of the ones who were around for that generation picked up most of what they wanted when they were in stores.
G1 Wishlist  It's the final countdown! Looking to purchase the last few G1's for my collection - Watercolor Baby Sea Ponies Foamy, Misty & Surfy - Red Roses - SHS Sweet Sundrop - Springy - Teeny Tiny Snookums (#2)

Selling individually would probably get you a better price but it's a LOT of work so I second those who have said 'lots' - especially with the easy to find ponies :)

Best of luck :frolic:

Hi! As most have said, selling as lots is the best option. Best of luck :)

Welcome back to the Arena.

Another suggestion is looking for people who have bulk g3's in their want lists and going through thinning them out that way, then anything left might make it easier to sell? :)

Welcome back, rykkilynn!

I'm afraid I can't be any help with selling, but it looks like you have a few ideas going already. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice everyone!  :)

I decided to setup a temporary "Shop" on my personal blog to sell my ponies. It's way more work than necessary, I realize. But, I've been wanting to learn some e-commerce skills anyway, and this gives me an opportunity to try that out. I'm still working on it, but I will try to remember to post a link to it here when I'm done.
