AAAAAH GOOD MAIL DAY! (w/ semi-random act of pony kindness)

So, I've been having a couple of rough days, depression and back pain-wise, but today my mom took me out to dinner, and when I went to my mailbox when we got back home, it was STUFFED!

(on a completely non-pony related front, I got a postcard from a friend, which was very nice, but mostly, I got two packages!)

I will start with the less exciting package-- I got my rerooting kit and five random hanks from Dollyhair! The surprise fun of getting random hair was nice... and now I just have to figure out what to do with it all. (the only problem is that none of them are labeled with type and color name, so I'll have to employ guesswork if I ever want more of any of them...)

I got a nice satiny black:

A bright tomato red:

(this is one of the candidates I am looking for for doing an alt-reroot (if not a total customization of) my extra little brushable Rarity...)

A lime green:

(seems to be the same texture as the red which is going to make it easier to narrow down which red and green they are... maybe)

A GORGEOUS purple!:

(obviously not in the running for alt-rerooting Rarity... but I LOVE purple! I'll find someone to use it on eventually, either a pony or a monster)

Oh gosh, I love this one... but I want to think of a really special project before I use it.

And I'm still hunting for the perfect realistic red... so I looked at more samples for that.

But now... Now for the main package, the semi-Random Act of Pony Kindness! (it arrived faster than I expected, too, getting here the same day as the other package)

The sweet and fabulous Midnight Mocha found one of my grail ponies at the local meet that I'd been unable to attend due to a family wedding, and asked for my address to send on a little semi-random surprise. I flailed about and made some excited noises and said of course, and then I sat back and waited to be surprised by just which pony.

Well... now I need wonder no more, because I opened the package to reveal...

CARAMEL CRUNCH!

And I promptly began flailing and squealing anew, because she'd kept showing up whenever I would look at ponies on ebay etc. while broke, like... if I was going to pick one pony out of all the ponies ever to show up, it would be her.

And the's got a lot of curl to her hair, which is all super soft and shiny and silky. Some flyaways and whatnot (I never remember to tame them before snapping a photo), but considering she'd just come through the mail and all, not to mention her age, I thought she and her curls were in great shape!

Aaaaah just looking at that little box of popcorn on her flank makes me smile!

And there was a little note included that was A) very nice, and B) on cute mini stationery, and this just really brightened my day so much!

(My cat seemed to get quite a lot out of sniffing her... I've got allergies stuffing me up and so couldn't say if he was catching a faint remaining whiff of original scent, or if he was just excited because she came from far away. I'm just excited that she's here and so CUTE!)

So a million thank yous to Midnight Mocha for thinking of me! It was the perfect gift, and the perfect timing!

Awww you got her, I'm so happy you love her I just randomly remembered your wish list while I was there, and she was sitting right next to a pony I wanted to buy, so I was like hey let me pick one up for her since she couldn't make it!

I tried to tame her hair a bit but since she had all those factory curls, I didn't want to touch her too much! I did clean her body though, so she's good for handling ^^

I'm glad I could do my first RAOPK while I still could!

Thanks, all. I am just super happy with this and the very fortuitous timing.

(though I should have taken pictures of the grab bag of hair when there was natural light-- what I thought was black is a deep navy, and the lime green has thin streaks of mint!)
