Ebay boring lately?

I like to browse the different auctions on ebay to see if any neat ponies pop up that catch my eye, but lately, like the past year or so, it's been... BORING! There are still some good auctions here and there, but lately all I ever see is over priced, relisted  for the 100th time for same high price, sickenly common, or items that have absolutely nothing to do with my search! I'm mostly referring to G1's, but notice it also with G3's and nirvanas. It's not only My Little Pony, but the vintage G1 Littlest Pet Shops as well! So tell me, am I being silly or are others noticing this too?

I agree, it seems like a lot of auctions are overpriced and relisted for the umpteenth time.  I think part of it is the publicity that ponies have been getting lately, so people that don't collect are trying to cash in on the market.  I've seen a few auctions for G1's/G3's/fakies where people have specifically listed "brony" in the title too.

I like to search for all generational prototypes, and someone listed a fakie as a G3 prototype and I informed them that it was a fakie and they relisted it as the same thing So they are trying to play off of gullible people on there I think. I agree with you.

Eh im not having too hard of a time with it.. i just got a ss wind whistler for a really decent price and her hair is still pink so im happy!
but sometime yah.. it seems slim pickings.

I completely agree. There is just not the same level of stuff available and I would bet without the G4 items which are everywhere being resold, an MLP search on ebay would deliver some of the fewest results we have seen for a while. I think unfortunately there are so many collectors now as well as even more resellers [although I am grateful for many of those as they have certainly helped me fill out my collection] that there are fewer actual items. Not to mention ebay being a harder place to sell than ever before unfortunately, probably putting people off.

Hmmm...

...I've been having good luck with eBay.  I do see overpriced G1 lots.  Rather, the lots are priced at exactly what the ponies are worth on the upper end of scale.

There have been a few auctions here and there that have gotten my interest, but I agree that I haven't seen the same level of exciting, awesome ponies up for sale and/or the prices have gone high enough that I've been discouraged from bidding.  I feel like when I was on the fence about getting back into collecting two or three years ago that there were tons of exciting auctions to watch each week now it's just one or two auctions here and there.  For example, I feel like I used to see the TAF babies up for sale all the time, so I put off getting them because I thought I'd always be able to pick them up easily enough.  Now they've been harder find and prices have been on the higher end lately.

I just search for Nirvana ponies now which limits my search but I think it's just a slow period.  Between G4 and so many G1 collectors having resources a lot of ponies have settled into (mostly) permanent homes or are done through here or MLPTP

I purchased two So Soft some time ago... But other than that? No I rarely go there because prices are over the top and my wallet cries in agony, so forums suits me fine, facebook or ads online.
