Because she is a beautiful pony!  :yippee:

I would imagine, her price is just going to increase as the years pass. As soon a the kids that played with G3/G4s start growing up into collectors they are going to want to have her too.

Because it's what people will pay.
Also, she's really only 2-3x more expensive than Quackers, and (at least in my opinion) about 5x as cute, and 10x as popular.

I personally find TE Bright Eyes prettier then Mimic. I can not fathom paying the going price these days on Mimic.

Keep looking and don't give up!!! I finally got a Mimic for just $55 from a member here :) I mean it was $55 because she has dry hair, some pindot and faded symbols. But I'm just happy to have one, until I can afford an upgrade.

On the subject of Quackers too, I find her equally hard to find. I have one ( which I got in a swap box from the lovely LadySatine :lovey: ) and the only flaw is she has cancer under where her tail hangs but I really don't care, because it's Quackers!!!!

sorries i dont think I have anything useful to add at this point, other than I got my Mimic for approx $100  before the recession and all that, when prices were higher than now. I dont regret it. She is mint with original brush and ribbon , plus I love her colours and pose ..and I cant help but want every pony in my collection anyways whether they are HTF or common TBH. I'm prone to paying higher if I want something quicker

Well, ya'll can fight over all the post-apocalyptic ponies while I get all the canned food and vintage muscle cars, okay?

Only if I get Sam, Dean, and a really cute German Shepherd...and a Corgi.

Oh...and those ponies we were talking about hoarding instead of food and important other things.

You can have the Moose, but I don't know about Dean. . .and I'm not even into men!  Hahahaha!

My post-apocalyptic plans also include looking for kimono and doll collections to clean out besides Muscle cars and such.  Mustn't let all the antique dolls be ruined!

Add to that list Dorothy and her sweet vintage Indian (dies), at least two Harleys and a Malamute. The first two relate to Supernatural, the rest are just my wants in general. Post apocalypse or not. :)

Oh wait ponies and I don't mean the Mustang four wheel types. When I was a kid I only found Mimic once. New, at a store and I turned her down.  Yeah I passed on her. Thing is I always thought she was hard to find and expensive because her TE set was harder to find. At least in my area it was (southern California).

I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought her. £50 for a near mint Mimic around 2 years ago. I love her, but I have been tempted to sell her a few times...
