How do you prefer to collect?

Loose with all accessories or MOC / MIB Thats what I would like.

I like a pony loose with complete accessories. But I also love mint condition ponies. As a G4 collector I purchase the sets and then debox them myself. I'm happiest with ponies that I know are mint and are very much "mine", not been played with or styled by anyone else. Obviously you couldn't go around making a mint G1 or G2 collection by decarding everyone so I've settled for getting baity ponies, fixer uppering them as much as I can, and then considering them place holders for the day in the future that I get a minty upgrade and complete the relevant accessories.

I've been humming and ahhing about the G3s. They seem recent and a lot of people collect them MIB, so I wonder if I could buy and debox the few that I like without making a dent in the overall MIB population. But on the other hand I shudder at the thought of deboxing anything that's not currently on store shelves and easily replaceable. I only have one G3, she's MIB, I bought her with the intent of deboxing BUT she's been left for two years in the same cardboard box I received her in the post because I still haven't found an answer to whether I should build a MIB collection, a loose collection, or a decarded collection.

For me I tend to debox mostly for space, though I do have a few MIB or at least loose in box. Playsets at least for G1 I am trying to find with the box so when they are stored they are still attractive to look at.

I tend to get my earlier release ponies loosey-goosey, which I'm perfectly fine with! I know that if I got a G1 or G2 MOC/MIB I would instantly debox him/her, which people would definitely balk at I'll pick up accessories if they come with the pony or if I find them randomly, but they're not a huge priority outside of playsets. Any pony that's currently in stores I'll get mint, but I always always always debox! I love seeing my ponies sitting around my room and I haven't the heart to keep them in little plastic prisons forever.

I need my ponies to be loose, and since I collect G1s this isn't a problem! I'm not a collector of accessories, I know if I started I would obsess about every pony in my collection having them and drive myself nuts I love looking at the pictures of everyone else's ponies with accessories though.

I have always thought that it would be cool to by a MOC G1 just to open in and relive the excitement of getting a new G1 all over again. So.. I'm probably not a good candidate for owning a MOC. If I found one affordably, I would buy it!

But I prefer loose without accessories. I love being able to touch, brush, and clean them. And smell them!

Me too...  I get that urge to reopen especially, when I think about MOC So Softs....    like some sort of  deboxer zombie, instead of brains... i'd be like  PON...EEEEE...ZZZ...  SOFT...EEE...ZZZZ   so best to keep them away from me.

Its kind of a pony by pony basis for me.

I have a beautiful mib g3 set and a g2 moc that I'm in love with.  One of my mini g4 sets I kept in the packaging too (I didn't want to risk losing Pumpkin Cake and Pound Cake since they're so tiny).

If I pick up a pony loose and she has her accessories, I'm glad to have them, but the accessories live in a box, for now.  I'm glad to have them, but don't have a way to display them.

Overwhelmingly, I prefer single loose ponies.  The pony is the part I like!  As long as she's lovely on display, I don't mind how it comes to me!

I like loose but am very particular about the condition of the pony. I usually don't care about accessories unless it's a cool hat or g2 necklace comb the pony can wear.
