I bought it too, basically just for Tealove. While I noted all of the left out/misrepresented entries, I also noted that a lot of prototypes seem to have made it into a format here where they can at least be examined in a somewhat larger style than the tiny pics on the side of a wave case.

Did you notice all the stallions in wave 2012-1 (the 1st wave w/ boys) not only look hand painted but also have a different head mold?

Did you notice how the princesses in wave 5 look pearly? I suspected this from box pics but they were so tiny it was hard to be sure.

Did you notice how several eye-prints in the later waves are looking in different directions than the production pieces? Including not-grumpy Groomsby?!

From the amount of hand painted looking ponies and eyes/CMs that are decals, I think a lot of prototypes or pre-production models got in here. Which is at least one boon for a guide that fails to be a true collectors' guide!

I love that positive spin on it!

As G1 collectors we are always seeking out paperwork and pictures which show prototype ponies...this book may actually be cooler than we think if it pictures prototype versions as it sounds like it does.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
Loa is my love god!
I love Loa more than PonyLady!
