I sometimes check stores like Walmart and Target.  I'm not super into G4's but I still like to browse.  They rarely have anything new.  The shelves are stocked with old stuff and the shelves are nearly bare.  Everything around MLP is stocked full--Littlest Pet Shop, Strawberry Shortcake, etc.  Those other areas have pretty much taken over.  It's sad.  I remember when G3's first came out you'd find an entire aisle filled with ponies, well on one side of the aisle anyway.  I know hasbro says their main target is little girls but I'm sure little girls get tired of the mane 6 too.

Don't worry, they're not gone for good.  This happens 2-4 times a year, and has been like this since the G3s first started to come out.  The stores empty for a while. and sometimes the pony section gets moved somewhere new.  Every time it happens somebody writes a worried post about how all the ponies have disappeared, so you're right on schedule:p  They haven't.  It's just the seasonal reset.  Old ponies sell out, new stuff takes its place.  If there's anything you were holding off on buying, now would be the time to get it.  Check the clearance aisle too.  Some good deals can be found if you're lucky.

New ponies will start to show up soon, usually all at once in a massive reset.  It usually takes about a week from the time that they start messing around with the tags for everything to get put out.  The empty pony section can be there for a few weeks before they start the real reset, so don't worry if it takes some time.  If you can get a hold of the DPI numbers, sometimes you can get them to crack open a box of stuff for you(sometimes, if you're lucky and the person helping you is really nice) before the reset.  The new items are probably already in the back, they just haven't been put out until the new layout of the toy section is finalized.  This is the big pre-Christmas reset, so odds are this is going to take a little longer than usual.  They have to reset the ENTIRE toy section not just the ponies, and this is often when they start moving sections around.

My Target and Meijer have not had new ponies restocked for over 2 months. It sucks.

Although, I will admit, when G1 stopped production, and I got confirmation over the phone by a Hasbro rep that they weren't making them anymore, that was pretty bad.  I cried for *hours* after that.  That was the worst thing I'd ever experienced by then as a collector.
Oh wow, that is really sad! At least now we know that they're likely to continue making ponies for a while...

*giggles* That's what the Internet is for!  Besides, they've made millions of each pony... there will always be another!

I think Target is just rearranging their toy section before they start Christmas stuff (since that seems to happen earlier every year).  Yesterday I stopped and ponies were missing but everything was CLEARLY getting moved around.  I'm going to make sure to stop in, a lot, this week, because I'm optimistic that when it's done my glittery ponies will finally be on the shelf!

Add me to the housefire or home invasion camp! This is not the worst thing.

Targets are resetting right now, so if the ponies are moving isles, then they will appear to have "disappeared" because that isle may not be set yet.

Christmas already?! But it's not even Halloween! D:

And yeah add me to the fire or theft group as well. While an empty store is always a let down, definitely not the worst thing that can happen! :)

Fire was the first thing that popped into my head too. I bought a lot of house fire ponies to use as customs many years back, but soon discovered they were even beyond that.

Glad it's just a restock issue. Just think everything will be all shiny and new next time you go in!
