Nope, their hair is fine. Mailsail's hair is frizzy because the color-changing hair stripe she has probably is in a state of breakdown - it gets a little more frizzy and matted than the rest of the hair. Have you tested her to see if she still works? And yes Sunlight looks like she has age-spots but they're on her NDS so maybe that's not so bad?
It should go magenta pink in sunlight. Careful though... don't leave it in the sun too long or the chemicals will break down and it'll stop changing color. This nifty little trick is the primary reason the set is called the Sunshine Ponies.

Hopstoch and Mailsails hair looks perfect length. Unfortunately Sunlight does indeed have age marks/cancer - if she displays nicely on the other side, I would wipe her down as she will be fine to display.
