« on: August 31, 2012, 05:26:52 AM »
I'm in the market to purchase some Brazilian ponies and I'm curious how much these will cost me to get them in really nice condition (decent hair). If you happen to have any from this list that you are willing to part with, please PM me. :)

Festinha Bubbles (with outfit)
Escoces Gusty (with outfit)
Heart Throb
Moonstone
Ribbon
Truly
Windwhistler
Northstar

Thanks!
Summer

it is hard, but not impossible to find brazilian ponies with nice hair. it does respond to conditioning and treatment with a flat iron, but it always seems to be fluffy! i know brazilian collectors who had ponies as children have said the hair frizzd almost from the moment you took the pony off the card.

Festinha Bubbles (with outfit) ~ $40-$60 more with outfit
Escoces Gusty (with outfit) ~ $40-$60 more with outfit
Heart Throb ~ $60-$100
Moonstone ~ $80-$100
Ribbon ~ $120-$150
Truly ~ $200?
Windwhistler ~ $80-$100
Northstar $30-$40

It's been awhile since I bought any Brazil ponies, but I'll give the prices a shot:

Festinha Bubbles (with outfit) - pony only $30-50; with dress only $40-70; with complete outfit $60+ (often ponies show up with only the dress. Other parts of the outfits are harder to find)
Escoces Gusty (with outfit) - pony only $40-60; with dress only $50-80; with complete outfit $100+ (this one is particularly popular because of her unique outfit)
Heart Throb $60-100
Moonstone $80-120
Ribbon $100-150
Truly $300+... maybe higher with a bidding war. This one is very HTF & on a lot of want lists :P
Windwhistler $75-100
Northstar $50-80... Northstar always seems to be less popular than the others.

PKW - I have ONE Brazilian with absolutely perfect hair.  I'm pretty sure the lady I bought her from decarded the pony herself and the hair is WEIRD.  I can see why it frizzes up so bad if it's like that off the card!  It kind of feels like oily cotton.

As one who is also currently looking for Brazilian ponies with complete outfits  ;)  I'd say those would easily go over $100 if they have all their pieces.  I believe my complete Gusty cost me closer to $250.

That is what I was expecting. :) Good to have it confirmed though.

I can't really describe it any other way, lol!  It's completely different to hair on any other country I own.  It's very soft and silky, kind of like saran, but not as heavy.  It lays like polypropylene but it isn't.  It definitely has an oily feel to it but there's nothing IN the hair to make it feel that way.

Brazilian shoes are REALLY hard to find. The black/dark blue ones I only saw once.

If you don't buy the 4 together chances are the color won't match once you got more.
My shy Gusty is still wearing US shoes (that doesn't fits her very well), and I had like 6 of the yellow that were made in Brasil but the color won't match to each other -_-

Brazilian ponies hair (kanekalon) is low quality compared to US ones. The ends will go dry and frizz very easily even with gently combing for most of the ponies. They require a lot of extra care :P

I didn't know that about the shoes, GustyFox! Do you think it's fading, or just differences in the batches?

I'm not sure, may be both. Also some brazilian shoes becomes kinda gluey (I couldn't find the precise word I wanted to describe it in English >.o)

About the non matching colors, the white ones are the exception, the white ones I got seem to always match. When they don't match dirt is to be blamed (or they are yellowed due to sun baths).
