Hello, everybody!
I spend my days at work sipping black tea, so "Bergamot" seemed a fitting name.
This seems like a splendid community-- I've been observing for some time now, and I figured that I might as well stop being such a wallflower and join in on all the fun!
As a young girl, I was always a fan of animal toys, not caring much for human-shaped dolls. I loved Littlest Pet Shop critters and My Little Pony toys much more. Every now and then, I think of the little worlds I'd create in my head when I was a child, and wonder where all of that whimsy went.
Today, as a twentysomething, I think I have a want to go back to those worlds. Occasionally, I would get the chance to pay them a visit in my dreams. This grown-up world I'm living in does find me quite fortunate, however! I'm a graphic artist with a desk full of little toys; they are like totems to help evoke the spirit of that childhood. Among the ranks there are, indeed, ponies. I think they work. Maybe. A little.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic came along, and it was like animated pop-art for me. Everything about this show is just so darn
catchy. It reminds me of my childhood aspirations, and how they're still hangin' around within reach somewhere, waiting for me to catch up.
