i loved stranger things i thought it was bit like ET crossed with stand by me and you don't really see the "alien" very much until the last 2/3 episodes it has a happy/sad ending and quite a few funny parts

Stranger things was awesome. My daughter didn't like it. All she wants to watch is YouTube videos of people playing mine craft.   The generation gap is showing because I find those videos to be redundant and annoying. Why does she want to watch someone else play?  I just don't get it.
I've gotten quite a few good recommendations now. I also started watching nurse Jackie today. (Without my daughter) I just ignored the parts that bothered me and it was pretty funny.

If you two haven't tried Miraculous Ladybug, I'd highly recommend it for the cartoon category. It's about two teenagers who moonlight as the super heroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. It's sort of the generic villain of the day kind of show at first, and the female lead is kind of too perfect in almost everything she does, but the later episodes bring a lot of development to the series. It's overall just a really cute and fun watch. Definitely nothing super scary or inappropriate for a child audience.

I have no idea if it's on netflix, but it is on Youtube.
