Anyone else not really a "horse person" despite collecting MLP?

Me. I am not a fan of real horses. Never had any interest in them or whatsoever. But somehow MLP is just...mesmerizing! Really started to love it since G2.

Edit: I did love to draw horses and always liked merry-go-round horses. They have something mysterious and frightning/sad about them.

Horses are beautiful animals. I just have no interest in owning one. Too much responsibility and money. And most of the horses I have interacted with have just been plain mean. I'll stick with dogs.

Me too.  I mean, animals are cool, if I saw a horse at a fence I'd go up and pat it and feed it some grass, and going on a horse ride could be a fun activity on vacation (though I'd probably be one of those 'too gentle' people and not be able to control the horse, lol), but that's about as far as it goes.  But give me MLP any day

No, definitely not.

I mean really! Most people on here I've seen have had them as pets or work animals for years, but look at me. The only time I lived on a farm was until age 6 and even then, there were no farm animals (only 3 dogs.)
When we moved it was within city limits so I've never had the opportunity to raise one.

But I do still think they're neat. If I could, I'd get a shetland pony. I hear those are easier to raise.

I went horse-back riding once or twice a week from when I was twelve to about twenty. I had to stop when university became too work-heavy and blocked most of my afternoons and evenings, but I still think I'd like to start again one day.

That said, I don't like MLP because they remind me of real horses, and I don't like real horses because they remind me of MLP. They just happen to be two things I like, but one doesn't really relate to the other. I actually got into horse-back riding when I read the "Saddle Club" books, so that's when it all started for me.

I don't like horses and it isn't the horses fault, it's mine. When I was a child (think 4ish), we use to go to a church that had a horse pasture behind it. The nursery worker was asleep, so I slipped out to the horse pasture, went in... got kicked, broke my elbow. Wasn't the horses fault, but it scarred me. I keep my distance.

I am absolutely a horse person, so I cannot relate to this, lol. I was always short for my age as a kid, am still short, and took a fall off a rather tall horse when I was 4 - have never been scared of them or disliked them, though. My mom is a total horse freak - she used to have a horse before she moved to the US, and she's always collected Breyers (still does). So I guess I got it from her?

One day I would really love to own some land and have horses of my own.

I don't like real life horses. I don't like the barn smell, and I've been horse riding (which gave me a panic attack), and I've had neighbors with horses and I just like, lived downwind from 'horse smell' for years and that totally made me dislike horses. I live in like, the flippin horse town, USA and everyone around here looooooves horses and I'm just like, no.
They intimidate me with their general size and odor.

I like horses but it's very rare I can interact with one.  I'll never ride, as I'm afraid of heights.  I like to pet them though.  I'll never own one.

I don't hate horses, but i've never really loved them.I mean, i live in a city near my country's capital, for me horses are as rare as aliens!

They're pretty, but I'm not attached to them in real life. I just love stylized ponies, MLP style and prefer them to real looking horse toys!

I think I just like stylized animals in general. None of the animals on my shelf are particularly realistic.

Also me not being a horse person could be why I'm not bothered by the anatomy of G4. Like I see people complaining that "horses don't move like that" and I'm like not bothered at all.
