Last week, I spotted an ad with a title about a bunch of MIB G3s. I don't collect G3, but I was curious about this huge lot of MIB ponies, so I looked at the ad, anyway. I'm so glad that I did!! In addition to "several tubs" of boxed G3s, the person had 15 G1s. There weren't any details or pictures in the ad, but I contacted her and asked if she'd be willing to sell the G1s separately. She was, and she asked what I would pay for them. At this point, I didn't even know which ponies they were, let alone their condition, so I just threw out a low sum in order to get a feel for what she was thinking. She responded that it was too low, and I asked what she had in mind. At this point, she sent me a picture of the ponies. Some of you might have seen it, because I posted it in the Pony Corral to ask for a price check.

(She had indicated that she was selling them because she was in a tight spot and needed the money.) She asked if I knew what any of them were and if any of them were special. I told her that there weren't any really valuable ones in the lot, named all the ponies for her, and gave her a price range for the group. I also told her that she could come to the Arena for additional pricing help and/or to sell the ponies. I resigned myself to letting this lot get away.
She responded very appreciatively. It turns out that she is a collector and reseller of Breyer models, and she is used to people not wanting to give out information. She said that if I were still interested, I could have the ponies for half of the lowest price I'd given her. I said that I was but that I didn't know how/when I'd be able to get them. (She lives an hour away, and my husband has the car during the week.) She replied that she would ship them to me at cost.
And so I got a box of ponies this week:

loginI am especially excited about the Sweet Celebrations family, since they are the only one of the US Loving Families that I didn't have. Most of the ponies are in good shape. Blossom and Apple Jack are somewhat brown, and Baby Moondancer has a lot of plastic breakdown. Overall, I am quite happy with them. Glory and Gusty are pretty much perfect, and Magic Star has lovely flocking. I've cleaned up a few of them and will eventually get to the others (along with the majority of the rest of my collection...).

loginMainsail was part of a lot that I got a couple months ago, but I just cleaned her up. I thought it would be fun to take her and the Tropical Ponies to the beach.

(Her color-changing hair is pretty frizzed, so the braids look best at the moment.)
I'll post more pictures as I get the others cleaned up.
