Recovered ponies, thrift finds, new parakeet chicks!

My stream of new ponies has dwindled to a trickle for the moment, so I poked through my problem ponies to see what I could fix, and I found that I have the Stocking Christmas baby pony and the pink Baby Ember (to go with the purple baby ember I just got, what a happy coincidence!) which just needed good cleaning, and 4 BBEs that needed eye de-rusting and one also needed serious scrubbing and a tail, also a Windy and a Sparkler and a SHS all with minor pen markings which have faded somewhat now.  Also, I got some nice thrift finds including a nice unicorn pin and a floral pin and some rings a couple with 10mm pink zirconias and a couple fancy jewelry boxes to keep my pony jewels in, and a couple hard plastic horses, and Pokey from Gumby (with what looks like a tad of regrind, how about that?) and some odd toy pony that looks like a bit Lincoln Log-ish, and some marble, stone and glass bead bracelets and a necklace that will go on my G3 styling ponies, AND the three-piece silver vanity mirror/brush/comb set I've always wanted (woohoo!), and a sweeeeet Fisher Price super-articulated giraffe baby toy (darn you Creamsicle I'm addicted to giraffes now too!).  Oh yes, at the bottom is a picture of the two new parakeet chicks that began hatching Friday so they are barely a couple days old as of the picture on Sunday, my third clutch from this mating pair (great shot of mom too yes?)!

Great finds and it's always awesome to discover ponies you already had but didn't realize it! They all cleaned up beautifully. And those Parakeet chicks!!

The "Lincoln Log-ish" horse is from the really old Fisher-Price Little People toyline.  We had a couple of those when I was little.    The tan horse is Dallas, a vintage Barbie horse.  I had a couple of those, too. 

Your ponies look beautiful!!  I'd love to have a Windy like that someday.

And oh can you please make a thread with those baby chicks!! I am dying from how adorable! Or at least every time you post a find, you should update us on them! I am a sucker for birds, and parakeets are so sweet

Yes I know I am soo far behind getting parakeet stuff uploaded....this is the third clutch and I have so much footage to upload for them all...so negligent of me!  I will try to do better!

As to Windy, um....she was actually quite a bit bluer than that before I boiled her for 40 minutes trying to clear up a rusty colored spot on her....I learned that you should not boil Windy.  I did get that spot to mostly disappear though!

At least that gross rust came off! I always want to boil away spots on my ponies, but the one doll I actually did boil just ended up having her hair frizz to death..

There are now 3 hatchlings as of today and I uploaded a short video of them making feed-me sounds to my youtube channel...just click on my profile Youtube icon and it will take you there.  The other videos there are from the first clutch, earliest videos, I have so many more videos to organize and upload and the second clutch is moslty still images that I need to make some slide shows of etc....but I will try to keep up with the current clutch a little bit more (seems my current computer is more able to upload than the old junk could).  Happy chick watching!
