As others have said - very much your pony, your call :) If you wish to bait him, you should do so :)

Personally for me however it would the grand scheme of profit and loss for what was paid. He looks in nice enough condition that someone would be interested in him at a higher than bait price. Barnacle is notoriously prone to age marks or his body yellowing out - I would try and track down a boy with age marks and customise him...and sell on this better condition Barney :)

Update: I'm not going to use him as bait Or sell him. He's my only other big Brother pony, next to Quarterback.  His hair is less frizzy but lost it's curls, I think the matting and griminess of his hair kept the hair like that (curly ) I'd like to get it back to his former tresses so my other question is smaller/thin straws or the bigger/thicker straws for straw curls ?

I say thicker straws or even human sized curlers.  I've even carefully used an electric hair straightener/iron on frizzy G1 and G3 hair with success.   good luck on your restoration!

I actually try to go for a wave thing.  I use regular bendy straws and condition the heck out of it.  After it's had a few deep conditioning treatments, I wrap the ends of the mane under, and then flip the middle of the mane the opposite direction to obtain a wave sort of style.  Secure with rubber bands.  I wish I had photos, but unfortunately I don't at the moment.  :/

*edit*  Here's a photo of a Sweet Tooth that I restored a while back.  :)

If he was my pony I'd try to tame the hair first, then if that didn't work I'd rehair him in the original color or sell/trade him for a worse condition pony.
