I looooooved Pokémon XD! The game play was new and different and I really enjoyed it :) For worst I would probably say the dungeon games. I bought the blue version when it first came out and did not like it. It was a little repetitive and just not fun haha! I also like the Pokémon ranger games :)

Pokemon Gold. Simply for the memories associated with it. Getting a second hand card with rare pokemon already, making a friend on holiday, trading them to him one day then trading them to my new game the next all with the slow ass link cable.. I look back and I'm still surprised he gave them back. I let him keep a few as a thank you.
Oooh! and then finding out about the cloning glitch! I thought i messed up my game the first time and left it for weeks, went back and it was all okay and I just kept doing it, lol.

Also, got my first ever shiny in that game. But fate would dictate it was, of course, a damn magikarp... a lovely gold magikarp, but in the exact game that GAVE you a shiny garados for free! Gah!

Still, super favourite game. Had a minor meltdown when the battery finally gave out :c

Heart gold and soul silver are awesome updates to the game as well.

But I'd start with the basics. Grab a blue/red/yellow, give it a play through, update to the gameboy advance ones like ruby or leaf green, and keep going through.
(Also pokemon X and Y are WOW AWESOME)

Ooh what a lovely story!! :D I got my Gold from a car boot sale, I saw a GBA case, and expecting it to be empty, picked it up, and to my shock horror, it was heavy! I opened it up, there was a purple GBA, lots of games, INCLUDING Gold! I asked how much it was and the lady said it had been her grandson's and he didn't want it, she didn't know if it worked, and I could have everything for £1!!! I was just stunned. As I bought it and walked off (Of course thanking her like a crazy lady) she came bounding over and said "Ooh, found these too, please have them." and handed me a load of cable links and things for it! The GBA worked perfectly, just needed batteries and gold's save had broken, but I fixed it for less than £1. Was so chuffed!

I had Silver as a kid, but somehow lost every single game I had when I boxed them and bagged them to put into the loft (boxes and everything!!) was gutted as I reckon they were accidentally binned (I was an idiot and recycled the shopping carrier bags, we use them for bins and storage etc) so I never saw silver again :( However, I'm getting Heart Gold, Silver, Blue and Emerald in a trade from a lovely member here :D I've got Sapphire and Ruby and LOVE them, as well as Colosseum for the Gamecube, it's amazing. Also bought pokepark for the wii, and I'm waiting excitedly for it to arrive!!

Oh, interesting, thank you! I always considered getting the dungeon blue, as it is dirt cheap, but I think I'll give it a miss! I'm not a newer gen girl, so I'll forget the X and Y (if only it were all the oldie pokemon, I'd definitely get on the bandwagon!) Not sure about Ranger, but with your recommendation, I just may buy it ;D

Crystal. Oh, to this day I still like to go back to it and play. I'm very tempted by Soul Silver and Heart Gold, but I can't afford them (or rather: justify spending money on them :( ).

Also, I was really, really good at the TCG.

Oh cool! I never got to play that one, always wanted it though! My neighbours daughter used to come down and she had it and we'd play our own together, it was awesome.

Best: Pokémon Soulsilver (I haven't played HeartGold yet). I love how it's bursting with a big variety of different colors (the version for Gameboy Color was dreary looking because of the limited color palette), having a Pokémon follow me, the music in this game is catchy and makes me want to hear more, making special Pokeballs out of Apricorns you collect from trees, I love the designs on the special Pokeballs made from Apricorns, Pokéwalker (I have the course that was given away by an event that lets you catch Flying Pikachu and Surf Pikachu!), Celebi was given away by an event to unlock some backstory about the player's rival, a shiny Pichu was given away by an event to unlock Spiky-earred Pichu that joins your party, Arceus was given away at an event to unlock a new area where Dialga, Palkia, or Girantina can be born and join your party.
Worst: Pokémon Puzzle League. It's boring because it doesn't test your knowledge about Pokémon or let you participate in Pokémon battles or let you interact with Pokémon at all.
Also, got my first ever shiny in that game. But fate would dictate it was, of course, a damn magikarp... a lovely gold magikarp, but in the exact game that GAVE you a shiny garados for free! Gah!
Before Gen6 that has shiny Pokémon being a lot easier to find, shiny Magikarp was far more valuable than shiny Gyarados exactly because of the free shiny Gyarados in Silver/Gold when the chance of finding/hatching a random shiny was 1/8192. Now in Gen6, you can hunt in someone's Friend Safari that has Gyarados and the chance of encountering a shiny one is 1/1,000 and in the rest of X/Y, the chance of encountering a shiny Gyarados is 4,096. Plus in Gen6, shiny Magikarp is easier to obtain by breeding using Masuda method (1/1,892) so now it's only slightly more valuable than shiny Gyarados.

I've played Pokémon since the first games came out in Sweden. It started with Blue followed by Silver, then Pearl, SoulSilver White and X. I really enjoyed SoulSilver, being a beautiful remake that had everything Silver had and more.

But to be honest, I'd recommend X/Y to any Pokéfan anyday. It's, I dare say, the best Pokémon game made to date. The graphics are three-dimesional, battles are faster (and online, finally! I could never get White online) and there's even a little pet minigame called Pokémon Amie.
I was not a fan of the fith gen. Too many Pokés, so many uggos! What's good about the sixth gen is not only are they few and very qualitative, but you encounter just as many old Pokémon on your way as new ones. In White (a big disappointment for me) everything was supposed to feel "new", a do-over, and  so there were only ugly Pokémon and you could only acquire your favourites later, and sometimes only though transfer. In X/Y you get two starters. Two! And the second choice is between the original starter trio.
I'm looking to buy Port-o-Bella. Please email me.

I wish you wouldn't have edited out your post :(  Especially when it looks like you made it earlier today or possably late yesterday.

Looks like you had a pokemon (game) discussion?

Trading Card Game :) To make it more popular you could train by playing it on your gameboy or even on your PC :)
