This is really bothering me now.
I was selling my very very near mint UK Gusty to someone over in the states (some months ago now, maybe more) and I was taking her to the post office on my way to work when the heavens opened (again-this is England after all) and the bag that was holding Gusty just filled with rain.
I had wrapped her in a plastic bag and put her in my shopper with my purse, phone ect.
When I got to work I took her out because I could see my shopper was wet, phone was fine, purse was fine-gusty was not.
I'd left a TKMax receipt in the bag and it stuck to gustys head and left a great big red splodge across her pretty face. Argh I can sell her like that!

So....... I've used magic eraser, I've scrubbed her, I'm still sun fading her but it just won't shift. What is in the receipt print that has left such an unremovable mark?
Any suggestions because I'm loosing hope and I can't find a gusty on eBay in as good a quality that mine (was) in for this patient person so I can buy her one if mine does go back to her original beauty.

Damn British weather, I wanna move to sunny places (anyone in Florida wanna adopt me????!!!!)

You might have to sun fade the marks out.

Sun fading is probably going to be the only thing which shifts it. And with our glorious weather in this country it could take quite some time.

Some inks are absolutely vicious :(

Do you have pictures of what she looks like?  It might be able to help identify the best way to help clean her up.  Acetone might be a good bet, or whitening toothpaste.  If nothing else - sun fading might be the last resort.  :/

Acetone might be the way to go if you have little sun to work with - I've shifted dark grey ink from a white g3 with success.

It's across her face, neck and a little on her ear. It looks brown in this photo but it was bright red. Sunfading ect has got it toned down a little but it's been like this for months now. I'm not sure how long I should keep fading her because I'm nervous she will turn yellow over time? Is that possible?

I'm going to say acetone and more sun fading. You may want to send her somewhere closer to the equator to get more sun? I know thats a pain but generally it fades faster.

I think sun fading will be your only option.  =(  It looks like the plastic has stained unfortunately and that's going to be the only thing that removes marks deeper than surface marks.  So sorry hun, she really is gorgeous!

She could yellow with time yes but it will probably take longer to yellow than it will take to sun fade. Unfortunately that ink looks as though it has got right into the plastic rather than just on the surface so acetone probably wont help.

I am keeping to the sun fading option. Although I agree with Vertefae and you may want to consider sending her somewhere with a little more sun than the UK.

I wonder if you could try putting her under a UV light or something? That would be much faster than sunfading in a not-sunny place

Like others said I would suggest trying acetone first. Since it's a relatively new discoloration I would fetch a guess that it'll lighten it up a bit. The rest, yes sunfading usually works very well for reddish/pink marks. You don't have strong sun (just like here) so expect it to take a few months at least...
