How often do you out?

6 months ago I would say "What social life?" but I now have friends, I go out about every other week!

I often think that once you find that Special Loved One, that need for companionship is fairly well-filled and mutual friends are pretty much the only thing that keep the social life going.  I'm perfectly happy to spend any time I don't have to be at work with my husband.  Like everyone said, it's pretty normal.

Even though, I'm out of college (grad student now), I'm still out with my friends twice a week, more if I can spare the time. I agree with the poster above who said that when you find that special somone, it takes the need for comapionship away. But until then my friends are the wonderful beacons of sanity in my insane life! ^^ (though they are NOT going anywahere after I do find them!)

I don't really have much of a social life anymore but it really doesn't bother me. I 26 and my husband is 36 we have a 5 year old and when I'm not working I would rather be spending time with them. I do like it when I actually can arrange to see a friend, I do have fun but it's just not something I miss. My husband is my best friend anyway, I have a job where I have work friends, I go to the stables and I am very close to my mum. I think sometimes too much emphasis is put on going out and having lots of friends.

For a while now I've thought am I normal to feel like this, to not be bothered by not having loads of friends. So it's good to read a thread like this and realise that I'm not alone (if that makes sense.)

Never.  My life is work, college, home alone.  I don't have any real life friends that I do anything with and my family lives out of the area.  I have some long time online friends, but they live far away, from a couple states away to the other side of the world.

I feel like my experience is a bit different because my husband and I are very active in our church (we're Mormon), so as a result we have lots of friends in a similar stage of life that we are at (we are both 34 and have four kids).  True I have my super-duper close friends I made at college (and we keep in touch through email, Skype, FB and yearly get-togethers), but we hang out with our church friends a fair bit.

My husband and I do go on dates by ourselves a few times a month, then we see our friends at various times throughout the month.  Sometimes we invite a family over for dinner, or have a few families over for games, or we plan outings for just the adults (but we give everyone plenty of notice so babysitters can be found).  So I guess we do a little bit of everything - we have our couple time, then we have adult friend time (which writing that out sounds a bit odd, lol), then we also have plans where we also have all the kids with us too.

I am a stay at home mom and my husband works out of the home..so needless to say we are with each other 24/7..I do go out sometimes during the day to see my parents that live about 5 min away..My 12 yr old is in school and my 4 yr old is with me everyday...I have no real friends where i live now...I am from Chicago...So i have a few friends that i talk to online from there and one friend overseas but no one close..He has no friends either and he loves it that way..I dont..
My husband and I will occasionally do a date night..he likes to stay in while i am a person who loves to go out....So its hard sometimes to compromise..

I have friends, I just don't like going out and nor does my fiance.  He and I both work during the day and go to school at night so, when the weekend rolls around we just don't want to go anywhere or deal with anyone.

That's an odd call for me.  I consider going out to mean going out at night and to parties and meeting new people or dating.  Which happens like never for me since I prefer low impact hanging out.  I'm perfectly content taking naps at my friends house or them coming over just to read in the same room. If I'm not already out of the house by 7pm, it's a pretty safe bet that my pants are off and I'm not going anywhere.  However, I frequently see friends for lunch, or I'll show up at my friend's house and we'll watch shows together.  Sometimes I'll go to the grocery store with a friend. Sundays I go to breakfast club (me and two other friends have breakfast). 

I'm a little surprised that I sound sociable on this post, since I'm frequently accused of social hermitry-to which I plead guilty.  To be fair I'm also single with no kids.  I wish my friends with kids lived closer so we could go to the park or the zoo and do funsies things with them too.  It's exciting to see stuff through the eyes of a kid

Im 34 and he is 47. We go to dinner alot but its almost always just the two of us. Since he has a PHD in Physics, I have NOTHING in common with his work buddies and his other "friends" I consider religious nutjobs and want nothing to do with them.

My husband and I are both 37 - we're both involved in sports groups, so we do a lot of going out just by association with that.  When we're back in the Toronto/Hamilton area (where most of our longtime friends are) we usually do social stuff an additional few times a week.

So I'd say 3-6 times a week depending on where we are.

I go to local brony meets at least twice a month, sometimes more. A lot of my friends are there and they've been great in giving me a social circle. I went to college out of state so I don't have a lot of friends back home.

Otherwise I don't go out much.

I try to go out at least once a week but I'm pretty low-key:  I like to go shopping, dinner and/or to the movies.  I used to see my best friend at least once a week but she started working a lot, so it has become more like once evet 2 weeks or so.

I see my other friends once very few months and I go out to dinner with my family once a week.  I go to parties maybe a few times a year.  I like going out but I'm not into big group things.
