Donating to Toys for Tots!

... you think its 'occasional' because Christmas is occasional ... but toys for tots operates year round for birthdays too ... the toys they get now help them last year round because sadly most people don't think of giving year round ...

Really?  That's awesome!  Any of the "toy organizations" that I know don't contact my organization unless it's Christmas so I have a similar viewpoint to you, Kamakazee!    ANY TIME is a GREAT TIME to donate or volunteer!

The bar I work at frequently drives for Toys for Tots donations, year round.

I donate to many charities throughout the year as well. But at Christmas I help and individual family that is chosen through a different charitable organization. Its anonymous, but you are given the amount people in the family, how many kids, what age and gender and sizes. From there you donate gifts that relate to a specific family so they can have presents on Christmas. It's a group so everyone pools together and includes gifts and food to make a Christmas dinner.

Ever since I got my first job in high school, I've always made a point to donate to Toys For Tots. Over the years I've bought a bunch of ponies specifically to donate, as well as cleared out some MIB G3 play sets that I no longer had room for in my collection. Before G3's came out I usually picked out toys that I would have liked as a child, lol. Money is tight this year, but I will still be sure get something to give to someone who has less than my family & I.
