eBay... Is non paying buyers getting way worse?

I heard on the SSC forums that there is a problem currently going on with (one or more?) persons who are registering on ebay, bidding on higher priced SSC figures, but then not paying for them. This artificially inflates the value of the item (at least on ebay) because these higher price auctions will show in the finished auction section. Making values seem higher than they are... to possibly fool people into paying higher prices off ebay? We all use ebay as a marker on valuation of items.

that explains a lot.  i refuse to even sell anything SSC related on ebay any more because any time i have, this has happened to me.  whoever it is, has been doing that for years.    other than that i've had non paying bidders here and there.  i'm currently waiting on someone to pay me.  i don't think they will, i checked their bidding history and they just won 30+ auctions totaling more than $400.

So now I did a second chance offer on the one phone. I worked with them to even get the international shipping price down.  They paid and now they found out that they have to pay to get the phone unlocked in there country and want a refund.  Not my fault!  Slams head into wall...
