I think they will.  It's a great marketing ploy for us pony collectors!  I wouldn't have bought any of their products otherwise (too expensive!)

Agreed. I almost bought one the SDCC DJ Ponies, but I'm so glad I held off. I'm spending the same amount of money but I'm getting two fantastic shirts I can use and a tiny breakdancing pony that will fit on my desk...instead of a SDCC DJ Bling Pony that would have got stuffed in storage somewhere.

LOL, the sad thing is I like the light up box the SDCC DJ pony comes with, more than the pony itself. One of the things that stopped me from buying it was that I just knew I would evict the SDCC pony and put something else in its place. At that point I told my self, "NO buying a $50 light up box".

Octavia is in the wave after Applejack thats why she will show up before Octavia. The waves are being released with the original 3 or 4 accompanied by a new character - first Rarity, then AJ, then Octavia.

The vinyls are cool, but I'd rather buy them from someone who got an extra rather than buy a bunch of overpriced goods and then have to spend another $20 on top of that just for the figure (since the vinyl is the only thing I'm interested in).

I wish that Welovefine wasn't so restrictive about what you can order to qualify for the pony figure (you can only order MLP themed tshirts, hoodies, bags, and artprints) because there is so much that I want to order from their website that isn't MLP related. It would be better if it was something like any two shirts from them (not limit it to MLP only), or heck, just two any two items, because then I could order gifts for other people that aren't MLP fans and then just add on an extra figure. Heck, I know last Christmas I ordered like four non MLP shirts from them just as gifts for other people.
