My hubby has recently started on electronic cigarettes.  He hasn't had a real cigarette since May.  They really seem to work.  Good luck to you!  :)

What's the upfront and ongoing cost of them? I've been smoking for 20 years and haven't heard much about them! They sound promising!!

They range from around £7.99 upwards to £80.00 depending on what type you get.

There are little simple ones which have cartridges and can be recharged, they look like cigs and smoke vaguely like cigs. They tend to be about £8 for 5 refills, which equals 200 cigs.

I have one which you put a liquid in which is vapourised by a little heating element, and it cost me £31 in total with 2 bottles of liquid in different flavours. It came with a charger included. Apparently the element needs to be replaced every month or so, but I have heard they can last several. The bottles of liquid are around £4.

I've never smoked, but my dad smokes about two packs a day I think. We're really wanting to get him on these to help him quit :) What's the best brand to use?

Right now I'm a smoker. Been smoking for about 5 years. :/   My mom started too after not having done it for almost 2 decades. At least we don't smoke in the house, but it's still a disgusting habit I wish I could axe. I am sure I wouldn't like the electronic cigs because I like the taste and burn.

I wish you much luck in being able to quit. :)   I know how hard the addiction is. I use them as stress and boredom relief.

Thank you!

Oddly, the one I use has a huge "burn" or kick to it. Hits you right in the back of the throat. And you can get ones flavoured like tobacco, but not sure how accurate they are, as I only smoke menthol!
