Chase figures
« on: June 07, 2013, 03:07:12 AM »
Everyone loves those chase figures. Even Lego has Mr Gold in the latest minifigures set :)

Matty Collectables has introduced the Spirit of Hordak as their first chase :)

He's the same as the original release, only translucent.

I think they were going for red and menacing. Mine arrived today and he looks more pink and strawberry flavoured.

Who are your favorite chase figures? Anime, pony, Kidrobot?

Hah!  Candy colored indeed.

I collect Kidrobot figures quite a bit and love getting the really limited ones.  I have all the really limited ones from the Latin-themed Munny release a few years back.

Skylanders is the only thing I collect that has chase variants anymore, so obviously I don't like them! They make some real neat ones, but employees buy the chase figures they unpack and list them on ebay for $100+ right away so it's near impossible to find any outside of resellers. And the odds on there being a chase variant on those are quite awful - about 1 per 30 cases (not sure if a number was ever confirmed). 1 per 1-5 cases would be more fair while keeping them relatively uncommon, or they should've just made them in their own assortment like the store exclusive ones. /rant
One in particular one I would have loved to get is the stone Whirlwind, who is painted to look like a statue!

I don't mind them on blind-packaged because at least it feels like there's a fair chance for everyone (as long as there's no codes or box-openers).
