  LOL  too funny :)

My pony room took over the whole bedroom of what used to be called the "office LOL
I love the playsets so I have them ,loose ponies space is coming to an end in there, so the walls are holding any new ponies in their box :) and the wall space is not gone so far ,but the framed posters are also fighting for the wall space LOL
so it is going to be a time where things will have to be rearranged for more space, I have come up with a couple of ideas, adding a glass shelf to one of the walls and also moving out an antique book shelf that i was given ,that is just too big and the shelves are not very big to display much plus is too dark in there LOL, so either is going to be out of the pony room and replaced by a large desk with a glass top and in that way I gain as well some more wall space ,plus I like having the desk top space for  the playsets ,is wider and freer to have a playset on a desk than in a shelf :) I think it displays better .
the window sills are in use as well , the translucent ponies display super nice when the natural light is behind them :)
So another idea i have is to have some small shelves divide the window space :)
and I have started to be more selective of what i buy, only what I really really like is what i should get ! or if it is really really cheap LOL  like the MLP cups from Walmart , 66 cents for each one, the pony art is superb in them i think

I guess I am the odd ball here right now posting. I do not have a space issue with storing my ponies. I own my own house and have a basement that is half not finished. So I keep them down there next to my laundry room. I do need to save up and get the fourth bedroom finished. That is going to be my pony room and they will all stay in there. I feel very lucky to have all of this room :)

Well I'm in this boat really too. I have a 3 bedroom house with basement and a few "random" rooms (small offices). However, until I actually build my primo-pony-shelving, my space issue is more along the lines of "I'm not taking out my G1s and exposing them to light or dust" - so, that's why I'm all about bins! :biggrin:

My collection is pretty small right now so I only have a glass cabinet that is not even half full. I really only can put my collection in my room because I live with my friend and his family. If my collection outgrows the cabinet, I would put ponies on top of my dresser and end table. I don't think I will be running out of room anytime soon because I'm a college student so I don't have much spending money XD

While I have my own spare room and lots of space now I'm pretty positive I won't forever so I purposely am trying to keep my collection somewhat limited.
I make a conscious decision on what categories of things a will and will not collect. For example: I buy any G4 new character brushables and blind bags, funko vinyls, Design-a-ponys, mcdonalds... but I wont buy any So Soft, plush, crystal motion, shine bright...
I try to utilize space well. Risers are great!
I don't keep exact doubles I end up with and only in rare cases do I purposely buy variants of ponies I already have.
If/when I do really start running out out of space to display my ponies nicely I will likely start selling things off. Even right now I have a bunch of variants in a box I'm trying to make myself get rid of.  ^^;

One of the most popular methods I have seen when people have limited display space is cycling. So you would perhaps have 30 ponies on display and then another 100 stored away. Every couple of months you bring some out of storage and display them, and pop some of those who had been on display away.

Its also a helpful way to decide who to sell on if you decide to add to your collection. If you have a dozen or so ponies which never make it out of storage to be displayed, you probably will not miss them if you sell them.

I do something similar to this yep! The majority of my ponies live in under the bed storage tubs or my projects live in a bin as well. On average I have out maybe five ponies. Sometimes I rotate or sometimes just my favorites stay out. I've also sold off a lot of the ponies I liked least that never saw the light of day. I know soon when we move we're trying to make sure wherever we go I have room for a craft room. Right now my craft room is also a study for the other half which kinda confines the space. Far as the craft room is concerned I was going to set up half of it for my displays of my model horses and give the ponies one part of a shelf for a few I like. :P
