So I have this one (not this particular one, but like, my own. The photo is off google), and she's very sticky. (similar to another one I have) and is there ANY way to get rid of it? I've wash her, acetoned her and everything. Nothing. She'll be sticky again in two weeks. Is there a way to save her or is she a goner?

I'd love to know the answer to this as well, I have ponies that suffer from this.

there's nothing you can do; this is the plasticiser leaking out. washing them delays it for a little bit, but she will continue to be sticky until it is all gone and her plastic is hard.

It depends on the enviroment... it can take years really...  You just have to treat it again and again as you notice it.  :)  Think about how grease spreads through a pizza box... it's kind of similar.

I've seen a few people mention putting talcum powder on the pony in other threads relating to this kind of thing, I forget why but it was definitely mentioned.

I'm glad I don't have any ponies with that problem, good luck

I don't think its contagious but environment can speed things up so if one pony is doing it, it might happen to others prone to it.  But I've had it happen to just the heads or bodies of ponies and the counterpart stays just fine.   It's really not too terrible as the stickiness does end eventually.  Just don't let it touch anything else as they seem to be very prone to staining during the sticky phase.

Plasticizer leaks can be contagious, so be careful not to let your ponies get too close to her! They can't be treated, it's a deteriorating condition, so the only thing you can do really is to wash get from time to time.

If you'd like to speed up the process and harden her plastic, leave her in a tub of alcohol. You have to get ready for some nasty fading from eyes and symbols though! I suggest trying it out on a bait pony to see the effect!

If you'd prefer not to take the risk, you just have to maintain her. Don't worry, it's not too much of a hassle. Just ready a spare toothbrush, water-heater hot kind of water and dish washing liquid. Wash your pony under the hot water(upside down to avoid tail rust!) and then lather her with soap, scrubbing her with the toothbrush. (Avoid eyes and symbols!) wash her down with COLD water and that's your weekly/fortnightly routine!

My dear Skywishes is plasticizing too and I have to treat her like this as well!

All the best :)

This is not contagious - it is a break down in an individual plastic, relating to the integrity of that plastic itself. Its not airborne or spread through touching other ponies :P You can sit a pony with this condition beside another without it and  it isnt transferable.  So on that front you dont have to worry.

However, as others have said it is a condition you need to be aware is on going until the plasticiser has completely gone. You can either treat it with a regular wipe down to remove [I use eye make up pads for this as they are great at cutting through and lifting greasy like substances]. Or you can use rubbing alcohol [it can and most likely will cause damage on pain though so you need to be careful around eyes and symbols]. Or you can wipe her down with talc powder. The latter doesnt cure it but slows it down significantly.

Talc powder really does work on sticky ponies. It only needs to be redone after 6 months or a year.
I treated my divine shines in December and they are still good, even in a very uneven hot/cold environment.

rub a small amount of talc into the pony, then wipe the excess with a dry cloth or paper towel.
